Buffalo International Film Festival
The Buffalo International Film Festival has embodied the growing cinema culture in Buffalo and was in need of an overall brand refresh. The directors of the festival wanted an agnostic, yet recognizable look that could be used in the changing themes of the festival year-to-year.
Logo
Incorporating an Art Deco influence with a modern twist, the letters of the festival are surrounded by a screen, which is the exact aspect ratio (2.05:1) of Thomas Edison’s Vitascope in Buffalo’s Vitascope Theater, which opened in 1896. Some consider the theater as the first in the world built for the sole purpose of showing motion pictures.
